Westpoint Blacktown – Level 4 Public Domain Completion
MPN recently completed the upgrade of the Level 4 ‘Dining & Entertainment Precinct’ at Westpoint in Blacktown NSW. This project marks another milestone in our ongoing partnership with QIC (Queensland Investment Corporation) and CD Construction Group at Westpoint Shopping Centre to help create a more ambient and inviting venue for the community of Blacktown.
Strategic Methodology
In our latest project, MPN played a crucial role in developing a strategic methodology for the demolition of the existing stage and canopies. Additionally, we designed and provided innovative structural solutions for various new works including the new planter support, gateway, and canopy structures within the existing constraints of an existing suspended rooftop structure. This project exemplifies our commitment to providing comprehensive structural engineering services that meet the unique needs of our clients.
MPN & Westpoint Blacktown
MPN’s involvement at Westpoint Blacktown includes the following:
- Myer Vacate – The tenant vacation provided an opportunity for QIC to undergo structural upgrades on the original Myer building including new concrete footings, shear walls and structural steelwork strengthening of existing connections to bring the old existing structure up to current standards. The project shows MPN’s expertise and ability in adaptive re-use of existing structures.
- MPN also completed concrete infills to escalator voids to enable appropriate floor layouts for new mini-major tenants JB Hi Fi, Harris Scarfe, Uniqlo & Cotton On.
- Level 4 load bearing wall reconfiguration within WOTSO amenity toilets.
- Level 2 & 3 Upgrades – Void edge plantar support steelwork as well as upgrading of the existing skylight structure for the support of new mechanical equipment.
- Level 4 Central Tenancy Reconfiguration – Timezone and Zone Bowling tenancy reconfigurations.
We look forward to continuing our collaboration with QIC & CDCG including potential further contributions to the development and success of Westpoint Shopping Centre.
