MPN Group are promoting and assisting our clients in developing a sustainable future. Various feasibility studies have been completed or are underway for solar panel installations as property owners look to long-term solar solutions with energy providers to reduce energy costs, provide cost certainty against future movements in electricity prices and help reduce their carbon footprint. MPN Group is advising the structural implications, with the following projects successfully completed:
MARION SHOPPING CENTRE SOLAR CAR PARK CANOPIES
This project involved covering approximately 240 roof top (with retail under) car parking spaces with 14 separate solar canopies rated at 647 kW that provide shade and weather protection for customers vehicles. This is Australia’s largest solar car park canopy installation.
MPN Group worked in a team of consultants to achieve an optimal solution that considered the car park layout, solar panel orientation, aesthetics, existing rooftop car park structure and cost.
KOTARA SHOPPING CENTRE SOLAR PANELS FOR CAR PARK CANOPIES AND ABOVE EXISTING ROOFS
MPN Group designed solar panel canopies covering approximately 80 roof top (with retail under) car parking spaces on the newly completed Level 3 car park.
MPN Group also worked with Scentre Group to determine optimum locations for solar panels on the existing metal deck roofs of the shopping centre, these solar panel frames proposed to be fastened to the steel purlins through the metal roof sheeting.
In total, 4,122 solar panels will be installed with 730 of these used for the car park shade structure canopies.
